Background: The REDD+ Technical Committee (REDD+ TC) was formed alongside the REDD+ SC in order to provide it with technical advice. Like the SC, it is chaired by the Secretary of the MoEF. However, unlike the SC, the REDD+ TC does not include any civil society members apart from academics of Chittagong and Khulna Universities.  It does include representatives of development partners in UNDP and USAID.  The Chief Conservator of Forests in the FD serves as the member secretary of the REDD+ TC.  The TC is moreover empowered to co-opt additional members whenever necessary in order to maximise its technical capacity.

Terms of Reference (TOR):  

• Lead the formulation of a national REDD+ Strategy
• Critically examine all programme and project proposals on REDD+
